NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Eyeing Max Comtois
Max Comtois is still looking for a home for the 2022-23 season, but things could change on that front soon. The New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks are two clubs currently eyeing the winger.
The Rangers are looking to add a bit more skill and size to their bottom six, and that is something Comtois would bring. Due to this, it makes sense that the Rangers are looking at him as a potential option. He could be an option for their third or fourth line and also see minutes on their second power-play unit if signed by the Blueshirts.
The Sharks, on the other hand, will be looking for another winger after missing on Vladimir Tarasenko, a player who they were closely connected to. Although Comtois does not provide the same offensive production as Tarasenko, he is one of the top remaining free agents available and could be a solid middle-six option. He also is still young enough where he could fit into their rebuild. This is especially so if he finds the previous scoring touch he had a few seasons ago when he led the Ducks in points.
We will need to wait and see if either if these clubs end up signing Comtois before the start of the 2023-24 campaign from here.
