NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Colin White

Colin White is still a free agent as we inch closer to August. The 2015 first-round pick is coming off of a quiet season, posting 15 points in 68 games with the Florida Panthers. Yet, it appears that there are some teams considering the idea of taking a chance on him, as the Tampa Bay Lightning and San Jose Sharks are eyeing the 26-year-old.

When looking at Tampa Bay's roster, it is clear that they could use a bit more forward depth. With White not expected to make much more than the league-minimum, he could be exactly the kind of player that the Lightning can bring in. Perhaps playing for a strong team like the Lightning could lead White to put up similar offensive totals to his previous years.

The Sharks, on the other hand, are also in a position to take a chance on White. Their forward group is not looking strong heading into the new season, and White could have middle-six minutes if signed there because of it. Furthermore, he would also be a nice addition to their power play.

We will need to wait and see if White ends up signing with either of these two clubs before the start of the season.
