NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Josh Bailey

Three weeks into free agency, veteran forward Josh Bailey remains without a home. However, there is reason to believe that things could change on that front soon, as the Ottawa Senators and New Jersey Devils are both linked to the 33-year-old.

The Senators have been connected to Bailey over the last few weeks, but they are also focused on making a bigger addition first. Bailey would be a nice player for the Senators to add, as he would be an option for their third line and provide them with another experienced leader in the locker room. At a cheap cap hit, this could be a gamble worth taking.

The Devils, on the other hand, are still looking to bring in one more bottom-six forward before the offseason is over. With New Jersey entering the season with very high expectations, it would not be a bad thing for them to bring in a player with loads of playoff experience like Bailey. They also know him quite well, as he spent the last 15 seasons with the New York Islanders, a longtime division rival.

We will need to wait and see if either of these clubs end up bringing in Bailey from here.
