NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Max Domi In Free Agency
Max Domi is one of the top free agents still available on Day 2 of free agency. It appears that his market is heating up, however, as David Pagnotta reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators are interested in the 2013 first-round pick.
The Maple Leafs have long been linked to Domi, and now could finally be the year that they bring him to Toronto. The Leafs lost multiple forwards on the first day of free agency, most notably Michael Bunting. Domi could be a nice replacement for him in their lineup. This is especially so when noting that he is coming off of a strong season.
The Predators, on the other hand, had a big first day, adding Ryan O’Reilly and Luke Schenn. It is clear that GM Barry Trotz is looking to make the club more competitive next season, so it's no surprise that Domi is on their radar. He would be a clear option for their top six, whether he plays down the middle or on the wing.
Alas, it will be intriguing to see if Domi ends up signing with either of these two teams. His former clubs, the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks, should also not be ruled out.
