NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Paul Stastny

We are multiple weeks into free agency, and Paul Stastny is still looking for a new home. Yet, there are some teams looking at the 37-year-old, as the Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators have him on their radar.

The Oilers are currently focused on RFAs Evan Bouchard and Ryan McLeod. Yet, when noting that they could use an upgrade at the fourth-line center position, it makes sense that Stastny is emerging as a free-agent target for them. He would be a nice addition to their bottom six and could even be in the mix to receive some time on their second power-play unit if signed.

The Senators, on the other hand, are heading into the season with the expectation of competing for a playoff spot. However, one area that they need to improve before the start of the season is their bottom six. It is clear that they could use another bottom-six center, and Stastny could be a good addition because of it. He also would be another leader for the club's younger players.

We will need to wait and see if either of these clubs successfully sign Stastny before the start of the season from here.
