NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Who Could Sign Free-Agent Forward Tomas Tatar

The 2023 NHL Free Agency period is alive and kicking as several of the big name free agents have been scooped up as we head into the second week. While most have been signed, there's several interesting free agents who have yet to put pen to paper. New Jersey Devils veteran Tomas Tatar is one, and here's the latest on where he end up signing:

Ottawa Senators

The Senators are looking for veteran help on the wing and lost out to Carolina when they inked Vladimir Tarasenko late Sunday night. Tatar could be a backup plan for them as Ottawa has just over $10 million in cap space. Tatar is likely looking for around $3.5 million as he put up 20 goals and 48 points in 82 games last and then added one goal in 12 playoff games. The Sens have a need and this may be their best solution.

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks still have over $28 million in cap space and they've shown the willingness to sign veteran wingers when they brought on Alex Killorn earlier this summer. Tatar is a great teammate who is a pro's pro and brings his best to work each and every day. He'd help set up a strong culture for the Ducks and would be an integral veteran, much like he was for the Devils youngsters. Could be a fit in California next.

Seattle Kraken

The Kraken have a bunch of middle-six wingers but have shown they can make it work. The Kraken would love to add more speed and offense and have been pretty quiet during the early stages of the 2023 offseason. Tatar would be a manageable contract and one Seattle could fit with their $14.4 million in cap space still remaining. The Kraken had stretches of inconsistency last season and adding another player for secondary scoring could help moving forward.
