NHL Rumors: Matt Dumba Linked to Western Conference Team
The Dallas Stars are looking to add a top-four defenseman, and there are reports circulating that Matt Dumba is on their radar because of it.
Dumba is the top defenseman still remaining on the free-agent market, and interest in his services is naturally starting to increase. The 28-year-old would certainly be a nice addition to the Stars' right side, especially when noting that it is not the strongest area of their roster.
Dumba appeared in 79 games this past season with the Minnesota Wild, where he posted four goals and 14 points in 79 games. Offensively, it was a down year for him, but he still was an important part of their group because of his reliable defensive play.
It will be interesting to see if the Stars end up being the lucky team to sign Dumba from here. On paper, there appears to be a great match, but time will tell if it does in fact come to fruition.
