NHL Rumors: Matt Dumba Linked to Western Conference Team

The Dallas Stars are looking to add another right-shot defenseman before the offseason is over. They have been linked to Carolina Hurricanes d-man Brett Pesce, but they also have Matt Dumba on their radar as well.

Dumba is still looking for his new home, and we are just about three weeks into free agency. There have been teams interested in him, but a final decision has not been made. Yet, perhaps the Stars could be where he ends up landing.

Dumba is an experienced top-four defenseman who would make the Stars look better on paper heading into next season. This past season was a bit of a down year for him, however, as he had just four goals and 14 points in 79 games. Yet, when looking at his resume, he is a prime bounce-back candidate for the 2023-24 season.

We will need to wait and see if the Stars' interest in Dumba results in them bringing him in from here.
