NHL Rumors: Big Update On Patrick Kane's Free Agency

Patrick Kane is the biggest name free agent still on the board. The 34-year-old has yet to find his next destination. Yet, that is by choice, as Kane's agent, Pat Brisson, told ESPN's Greg Wyshynski that the future Hall of Famer "isn't looking to commit to a team in the summer" as he focuses on recovering from hip surgery. With that, Brisson noted that Kane will also be "keeping an eye on the standings during the opening weeks of the season" before making his decision.

So, we are going to be waiting for quite some time for Kane to sign his next contract. It is understandable that Kane is in no rush to sign a deal, as he recovers from hip surgery that is expected to sideline him for the beginning portions of the season. Furthermore, waiting until the season will also help him determine which teams are built like true contenders.

Kane split this past season between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers, posting 21 goals and 57 points in 73 games played.

Alas, we will need to wait and see where Kane ends up going this fall.
