NHL Rumors: Vladimir Tarasenko Becoming Target for Contender

In a recent article for Florida Hockey Now, George Richards wrote that he believes that the Florida Panthers could be in the Vladimir Tarasenko sweepstakes if he is willing to sign a short-term deal in the $4 million range.

We are over three weeks into free agency, and Tarasenko has yet to find a new home. With it now being this deep into free agency, there is a good chance that Tarasenko will be open to taking a little less cash on a one-year deal. If he is, it would make sense for the Panthers to bring him in, as he would give them another much-need top-six winger.

Other teams who have been linked to Tarasenko include the Carolina Hurricanes, Ottawa Senators, San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, and Arizona Coyotes.

In 69 games this past season split between the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers, Tarasenko posted 18 goals to go along with 50 points.

We will need to wait and see if the Panthers end up making a bigger push for Tarasenko from here.
