Ottawa Senators Rumors: Latest on DeBrincat to Red Wings Talk

Although the Alex DeBrincat to the Detroit Red Wings rumors have slowed down as of late, the chances of him ending up there are "still very much alive," according to Andy Strickland.
The Red Wings have made several moves this offseason, adding J.T. Compher, Klim Kostin, Daniel Sprong, Christian Fischer, Shayne Gostisbehere, and Justin Holl. However, even after adding all of these players, they still have just under $10 million of cap space. That is more than enough money to bring in DeBrincat.

Other teams have been in the mix for DeBrincat's services, including the Anaheim Ducks, Nashville Predators, New York Islanders, and Florida Panthers. Thus, the Red Wings certainly have competition but also a very good chance at the same time.

We will need to wait and see if DeBrincat ends up heading home and being dealt to Detroit from here. On paper, there looks to be a great match here between the player and the team.
