Ottawa Senators Sign Star Vladimir Tarasenko

The Vladimir Tarasenko sweepstakes are over, as the veteran winger has signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Ottawa Senators.

The Senators were connected to Tarasenko all summer. It is understandable that they were interested in him, as they were forced to trade Alex DeBrincat. Now, they have Tarasenko as his replacement, and he will be much more than just a consolation prize for them.

Tarasenko gives the Senators another top-six forward as they look to finally break their playoff drought this upcoming campaign. This is great news for them, as their roster looks even better on paper now, and they should be a real threat in the Atlantic Division because of it.

Tarasenko spent this past season with the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers, where he had 18 goals and 32 assists in 70 games played.

Nevertheless, this is a good move for the Senators. They got a very skilled winger in Tarasenko at an affordable price.
