San Jose Sharks Sign Filip Zadina

After mutually terminating his contract with the Detroit Red Wings, Filip Zadina has found his new home, signing a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the San Jose Sharks.

When it was announced that Zadina was hitting the market, it naturally grabbed a lot of attention. After all, Zadina is a former sixth-overall pick with plenty of potential. However, he has yet to take that next step. Now, he will be aiming to change that on a rebuilding Sharks team.

When looking at San Jose's current roster, Zadina is in a good position to receive meaningful minutes. When noting that he is a skilled player, it would not be too surprising to see him have a second-line role at the start of the season.

Zadina appeared in just 30 games this past season due to injury trouble, where he had three goals and four assists. It was not a particularly impressive showing from the 22-year-old, but now he will be aiming to bounce back through this fresh start with San Jose.

Overall, this is a nice low-risk move for the Sharks. Let's see how it ends up going for both the team and the player.
