Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors: Defenseman Could Be Moved

The Toronto Maple Leafs still need to get under the salary cap ceiling, and more moves could be on the way. Nick Kypreos recently said that the Maple Leafs could trade TJ Brodie this summer because of it.

Brodie's name has been in the rumor mill quite often this season. He has been discussed as both a possible buyout and trade candidate. It is understandable, as he carries a hefty $5 million cap hit and is entering the final season of his contract.

There are teams out there that would likely love to add Brodie to their roster, as he is a veteran defenseman known for his reliability and solid defensive play.

Brodie appeared in 58 games this past season with the Maple Leafs, where he posted two goals, 14 points, and a plus-10 rating.

We will now need to wait and see if the Maple Leafs end up moving Brodie before the start of the 2023-24 season.
