Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors: Veteran Goalie On Team's Radar

According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, Brian Elliott could be on his way to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Although the Maple Leafs still have Matt Murray on their roster, that is expected to change before the season is over. As a result, if they were to sign Elliott, it would provide them with another possible backup option. However, after how well Joseph Woll played when called upon in 2022-23, he is expected to have the role.

As a result, if the Leafs signed Elliott, he could serve as a decent third-string netminder for when injuries occur. This would not be a bad thing in the slightest, as it would give the Leafs another experienced goalie.

In 22 games last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Elliott posted a 12-8-2 record, 3.40 goals-against average, and .891 save percentage.

We will need to wait and see if the Leafs end up signing the veteran goalie from here.
