Toronto Maple Leafs Sign Skilled Forward
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made their second big addition of the day, signing Max Domi to a one-year, $3 million contract.
Reports surfaced that the Maple Leafs were looking to sign Domi, and that remained the case even after inking Tyler Bertuzzi. Now, Domi is officially heading to Toronto, where he should be a notable part of their forward group.
Domi will provide the Maple Leafs with more strength in their middle six. The 2013 first-round pick offers excellent versatility, as he can play both center and left wing. Thus, the Maple Leafs should have zero trouble fitting him into their top nine.
Domi is coming off of a good 2022-23 season, as he had 20 goals and 56 points in 80 games split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars. If he replicates that kind of production in 2023-24, he will be a strong addition to the Maple Leafs’ roster.
It seemed inevitable that Domi would be a Maple Leaf at some point during his career, and now it has finally happened. Let’s see how the skilled forward does from here with the club.
