Vancouver Canucks Re-Sign Nils Hoglander

The Vancouver Canucks are bringing back one of their younger forwards, re-signing Nils Hoglander to a two-year, $2.2 million contract.

Hoglander, 22, appeared in 25 games with Vancouver in 2022-23, posting three goals, six assists, and a minus-4 rating. The 2019 second-round primarily played in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Abbotsford Canucks, where he scored 14 goals and recorded 32 points in 45 games played.

Ever since posting a 27-point campaign in 56 games as a rookie for Vancouver in 2020-21, Hoglander has had trouble replicating that kind of production. However, now that he has landed his new contract, let's see if things can change on that front this upcoming season.

Hoglander will be competing for a spot in Vancouver's middle six at training camp this summer. We will need to wait and see how much of an impact he can make during his new deal from here.
