Washington Capitals Re-Sign Martin Fehervary
The Washington Capitals have re-signed Martin Fehervary to a three-year, $8.025 million contract.
Fehervary has emerged as an important part of the Capitals' blueline over the last few seasons, and now he has earned this sweet new contract because of it. He will now look to continue to emerge as a legitimate top-four defenseman for a Capitals team looking to bounce back in 2023-24.
Fehervary appeared in 67 games this past season with the Capitals, posting six goals, 16 points, and 217 hits. Overall, he provided some offense from the point and made a notable impact with physicality. The latter is an element that has allowed him to be very impactful when called upon.
Over the course of his three-year NHL career, Fehervary has 14 goals, 20 assists, 34 points, and 482 hits in 152 games played. It will be fun to see how well he improves upon these career stats during the duration of his new contract.
