Winnipeg Jets Rumors: New Team Linked to Mark Scheifele

Mark Scheifele is one of the top trade targets on the board right now, and he has garnered interest from multiple teams. A new club has reportedly entered the mix, as David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported that the Boston Bruins have expressed interest in the star center.

The Jets have been listening to offers for Scheifele, as he is entering the final season of his contract and is eligible for free agency next summer. When noting that Scheifele has a lot of trade value, they would be wise to see what they could get for him. The Bruins stand out as a team who would be willing to pay a heavy price, as their depth down the middle will be in serious trouble if Patrice Bergeron and/or David Krejci retire.

Scheifele would give the Bruins a legitimate first-line center to work with as they aim to stay competitive in 2023-24. In 81 games last season with the Jets, the 2011 seventh-overall pick had 42 goals and 68 points.

It will be interesting to see if Boston ends up landing Scheifele this summer from here.
