Arizona Coyotes to Terminate Jean-Sebastien Dea's Contract

The Arizona Coyotes have placed Jean-Sebastien Dea on waivers for the purposes of contract termination.

Dea was set to enter the final season of his contract with the Coyotes, but now things are changing on that front. It was reported by Renaud Lavoie that Dea has requested this contract termination to explore his options in Europe.

Dea proved to be a key contributor to the Coyotes' AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners last season. In 67 games, he posted 23 goals to go along with 27 helpers. Overall, the Roadrunners would likely have loved to keep that kind of production in their lineup, but that of course will now not be happening.

Dea also appeared in four games this past season with the Coyotes, where he failed to get on the scoresheet. Overall, he was simply a call-up candidate for the Coyotes, and they should not have too much trouble finding a replacement for him if they wish to.

In 37 career NHL games, Dea has five goals and seven points.
