Capitals Rumors: Central Division Showing Trade Interest In Evgeny Kuznetsov

During the current NHL offseason, significant speculation is starting to surround the potential trade of Evgeny Kuznetsov from the Washington Capitals to the Minnesota Wild.

Kuznetsov's expressed desire to be traded has drawn attention, and the Wild have emerged as potential suitors for the talented forward. Recent reports indicate that the Capitals are exploring trade options involving Kuznetsov, with the Wild showing genuine interest.

Rumors suggest that the Minnesota Wild are considering a trade package to acquire Kuznetsov, potentially involving salary retention by the Capitals.

The 31-year-old Kuznetsov recently recorded one of his lowest-scoring seasons in nearly a decade with 55 points in 81 games last season.

While details of the trade remain speculative, reports mention possible assets such as draft picks and players like Marcus Foligno and/or Marcus Johansson being included in the deal.

Johansson came over to Minnesota from Washington mid-season last year, and recorded an impressive six goals and 18 points over 20 games played.

Foligno had a bit of a down year last season, recording just seven goals and 21 points across 65 games played.  Photo Credit: Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports
