Columbus Blue Jackets Sign Forward to PTO
The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Nate Schnarr to a professional tryout contract.
Schnarr, 24, spent this past season split between the Laval Rocket and Ontario Reign. In 45 total games, the 6-foot-4 forward posted four goals and nine points. Overall, it was a pretty quiet year for the Waterloo native, but he will now look for the opportunity to make a bigger impact for the Blue Jackets organization from here.
Schnarr is likely competing for a two-way or AHL deal with the Blue Jackets. If he impresses at camp, it is fair to assume that he could land one. He is known for his physical style of play and has put up better offensive totals at the AHL level during previous seasons. For example, in 2021-22, he had 17 goals and 36 points in 63 AHL games.
We will need to wait and see if Schnarr can earn a contract of some kind with the Blue Jackets from here.
