Edmonton Oilers Rumors: 2 Free Agents Listed as Possible PTO Targets

The Edmonton Oilers are sporting a strong roster heading into the 2023-24 season, but it is also clear that they could use more center depth. As a result of this, Kurt Leavins of The Edmonton Journal wrote that Nolan Patrick and Colin White are two possible PTO candidates that the Oilers could consider.

Patrick is currently an unrestricted free agent and missed the entirety of the 2022-23 season due to injury. During the campaign before, the former top prospect was limited to only 25 games with the Vegas Golden Knights, where he posted two goals and seven points. If the 24-year-old is healthy enough to resume his career in 2023-24, it may not be the worst idea for the Oilers to sign him to a PTO. If he impressed on a PTO, he could be a decent extra forward for Edmonton to have.

White, on the other hand, appeared in 68 games this past season with the Florida Panthers, where he posted eight goals to go along with seven assists. Overall, it was a fairly quiet year for the 2015 first-round pick, and he has yet to find a home because of it. Yet, he has had past success in the league not too long ago, so he could be a decent depth option for the Oilers to consider bringing in.
