Florida Panthers Provide Updates on Aaron Ekblad & Brandon Montour

While speaking on the Sirius XM NHL Power Play radio spot, Florida Panthers general manager Bill Zito said that Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour are both on track with their recoveries from offseason shoulder surgery.

This is good to hear, as Ekblad and Montour are key parts of the Panthers' defensive group, and it would be rough for them if either of them suffered a setback in their recoveries. Instead, they are expected to be one to two months away from recovering.

Ekblad appeared in 71 games this past season with the Panthers, where he had 14 goals to go along with 38 points. Montour, on the other hand, had a monstrous season, posting 16 goals and 73 points in 80 games.

We will need to wait and see when these two key defensemen are officially ready to go from here. However, from the way things are sounding, they should not miss too much regular-season time at all.
