Hurricanes Provide Update On Star Andrei Svechnikov

While on the NHL Network, Carolina Hurricanes GM Don Waddell said that forward Andrei Svechnikov is on schedule, if not quicker, with his recovery after receiving ACL surgery back in mid-March. Due to this, there seems to be a chance that Svechnikov could be ready for the Hurricanes for opening night. If not, he should be back shortly after.

This is excellent news, as Svechnikov is one of the Hurricanes' most important and skilled players. The 23-year-old winger is also coming off of another strong season that saw him post 23 goals to go along with 55 points in 64 games played.

Assuming no setbacks occur as Svechnikov continues to recover, we should see him in the lineup early on in the season. This is excellent news, as he is a very fun player to watch. Furthermore, the Hurricanes will of course be ecstatic once he returns, as he is a big reason for their overall success.
