Jets Rumors: Latest on Connor Hellebuyck in Winnipeg

Connor Hellebuyck has been one of the biggest names in the rumor mill this offseason. Although the star netminder told the Winnipeg Jets that he is not willing to sign a contract extension earlier this summer, it appears that they are not giving up on keeping him around. Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet recently wrote that he believes that the Jets have sent Hellebuyck a two-year or three-year extension offer.

It is understandable that the Jets are still hoping to re-sign Hellebuyck. He is one of the most important components of their roster, and it will be extremely difficult for them to find another goalie as good as him as a replacement. Yet, when noting that Hellebuyck is not open to an extension, it is extremely unlikely that he would sign a short-term deal to stay.

Hellebuyck appeared in 64 games this past season with the Jets, where he posted a 37-25-2 record, a .920 save percentage, and a 2.49 goals-against average.
