Joel Kiviranta Signs PTO With Central Team

The Colorado Avalanche have signed forward Joel Kiviranta to a professional tryout contract. 

Kiviranta, 27, appeared in 70 games last season with the Dallas Stars, posting eight goals and one assist. It was a very quiet year for him, which is likely why he has had to settle for a PTO. Now, he will be looking to earn himself a contract and a bottom-six role with the Avalanche with a successful tryout. 

Kiviranta is remembered for being the Stars' hero in their series against the Colorado Avalanche back in 2020, so it is a little intriguing to see him now trying out for Colorado. It will be interesting to see if he can now land a contract from the Avalanche.

In 163 career NHL games over four seasons, Kiviranta has 16 goals, 12 assists, 28 points, and 271 hits. Let's see if he gets the chance to improve upon these career stats with the Avalanche from here.
