Nashville Predators Rumors: Tyson Barrie Listed as Trade Candidate
In the Athletic's most recent trade targets board, Tyson Barrie is listed as a player who could be dealt by writer Shayna Goldman.
Seeing Barrie's name emerge as a possible trade candidate is not all that surprising. The Predators are retooling, and he is entering the final season of his contract. With that, the Predators also have a surplus of NHL-caliber right-shot defensemen after signing Luke Schenn. Due to this, it would make sense for the Predators to trade Barrie for the right price.
There certainly could be interest in Barrie on the trade market, as he is still an effective offensive defenseman at this juncture of his career. Teams in need of some help on the power play and their right side should consider bringing him in from here.
In 85 games this past season split between the Edmonton Oilers and Predators, Barrie had 13 goals to go along with 55 points and a minus-7 rating.
