NHL Rumors: 2 Possible Free-Agent Destinations for Tyler Motte

Tyler Motte is still looking for a new home, but it is fair to assume that things will change on that front soon. After all, the 28-year-old is an effective fourth-line forward who is capable of playing all three forward positions. Due to this, let's go over two teams who could consider signing him before the start of the season.

Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks have a boatload of cap space and in a position to do some spending. When noting that their bottom six could use a boost, it would make sense for them to bring in Motte on a one-year deal. If he has a solid year, he would be a clear rental candidate for them at the deadline. Furthermore, they showed this summer that they want to be a bit more competitive in 2023-24, as they signed Alex Killorn and Radko Gudas.

Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche could also be a team in the market for Motte. He would be a nice addition to their fourth line, and that is an area where Colorado could use some improvement right now. Furthermore, with it being so late into the offseason, the Avalanche could likely snag him at a very affordable price.
