NHL Rumors: 2 Possible Free-Agent Destinations for Nick Ritchie
Nick Ritchie is still looking for a new home, but things could change on that front soon. He has shown throughout his career that he can be a decent bottom-six forward, as he provides solid secondary scoring and plenty of physicality. Due to this, let’s discuss two teams who could make a push for him before the start of the season.
Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning could use a bit more help in their bottom six. As a result, it could make sense for them to bring in Ritchie. He would be a nice addition to their third line or fourth line and could be an option for their second power-play unit due to his strong net-front presence ability. Due to all of this, it would make sense for them to bring him in on a cheap one-year deal.
Washington Capitals: The Washington Capitals are another club that could use a boost in their bottom six. When noting that Ritchie can likely be had at cheap price this late into the offseason, it could make sense for them to take a chance on him. He would give their bottom six much more grit and also would help improve their offensive production a bit in the process.
We will need to wait and see if either of these clubs end up bringing in Ritchie before the start of the 2023-24 season from here.
