NHL Rumors: 2 Possible Free-Agent Destinations for Adam Erne

Adam Erne is still a free agent as we get closer to the middle of August. However, when noting that he is a decent bottom-six forward who provides physicality when playing at his best, perhaps he could land a new home before the season begins. Let's talk about two teams who could consider signing the 28-year-old winger.

Tampa Bay Lightning: A reunion between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Erne could make sense. They traded Pat Maroon to the Minnesota Wild this offseason and could use a bit more toughness on their fourth line because of it. With that, Erne can likely be had for a very cheap price at this point of the offseason, so it could be an avenue worth considering.

Vancouver Canucks: The Vancouver Canucks could also use another fourth-line forward option before the season starts. Erne could make sense for them on a very cheap one-year deal because of it. He would give them more depth and could even make sense as the 13th forward on their roster if signed.

We will need to wait and see if Erne can find a new home with one of these two teams before the start of the 2023-24 season from here.
