NHL Rumors: 2 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Zack Kassian

After a poor 2022-23 season with the Arizona Coyotes, Zack Kassian was bought out, and he is still looking for a new home. Yet, when noting that he provides plenty of toughness and has a good amount of experience, he could find a new home on a cheap one-year deal before the season starts. Let's discuss two teams who could take a chance on him.

New York Rangers: The New York Rangers have been connected to Kassian this summer. They lost some serious toughness when they parted ways with Ryan Reaves last season, and they could look to bring in Kassian as a way to help fix that. At this juncture of the summer, he could be had at a league-minimum price. At a minimum, he would be a serviceable 13th forward for the Blueshirts if signed. Thus, this could be an avenue worth going down.

Nashville Predators: The Nashville Predators could use another option for their fourth line, so they also could consider taking a flyer on Kassian. He would give them another veteran, and he would make their group a bit harder to go up against because of his physicality. They also lost toughness when they parted ways with Tanner Jeannot at the deadline, so Kassian could be a nice replacement in that aspect.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two clubs ends up making a push for Kassian before the summer is over from here.
