NHL Rumors: 2 Teams Emerge As Top Contenders For Free Agent Matt Dumba

As the NHL offseason progresses, the spotlight remains on free agent defenseman Matt Dumba, whose name has become a focal point of trade rumors.

The Arizona Coyotes and the San Jose Sharks have emerged as the primary contenders vying for the talented right-shot defenseman's signature.

Speculations have intensified, with Elliotte Friedman's recent podcast suggesting that the Coyotes may be leading the race to secure Dumba's services, given their need for defensive reinforcements.

However, the Sharks are not backing down and have actively reached out to gauge his potential interest in joining their team.

Something they are open to. Friedman also reported today on the NHL Network that he believes the Sharks have pursued unrestricted free agent defenseman Matt Dumba as a possible replacement for Karlsson.

Both franchises, despite facing projected challenges in the upcoming season, are eager to acquire Dumba to strengthen their rosters.
