NHL Rumors: Pius Suter Linked to New Team

Pius Suter is still looking for a new home one month into free agency. Yet, there is a chance that things could change on that front soon, as the Calgary Flames have him on their radar. 

The Flames are looking to improve their forward group before the start of the season, and it is quite easy to understand why. This past season was a rough one for the Flames, and there lack of forward depth was one of the several reasons behind it. When looking at their current group, the Flames could use some help in their bottom six, and Suter would give them just that. 

Suter offers great versatility, as he can play all three forward positions. Due to this, he would fit nicely virtually anywhere in the Flames’ roster. Suter is also effective on the penalty kill because of his solid defensive play. 

We will need to wait and see if the Flames can successfully sign Suter before the start of the season from here. On paper, there appears to be a great match here, but time will tell if it does in fact occur.
