Panthers Rumors: Latest on Florida's Possible Free-Agent Plans
According to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now, he believes that the Florida Panthers are done adding free agents this summer.
This may come surprising to some, as the Panthers currently have some short-term cap relief, as Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour are expected to start the season on LTIR. As a result, the Panthers could bring at least one more player in financially, and they have been connected to a few remaining free agents and trade candidates because of it.
However, Richards noted that Panthers already signed four defensemen and two forwards to their group, so there simply is not too much room for another addition. He also said that veteran center Eric Staal is unlikely to sign a PTO, as he would want a guaranteed spot on their roster.
Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if Richards ends up being correct with his prediction about the Panthers from here.
