Pittsburgh Penguins Re-Sign Forward

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed Drew O'Connor to a two-year, $1.85 million contract.

O'Connor and the Penguins were set to have an arbitration hearing, but they have now avoided it with this contract.

O'Connor appeared in a career-high 46 games this past season with the Penguins, where he posted five goals to go along with 11 points. Overall, it was a decent year for the 25-year-old when called upon, and now he will be aiming to build off of it during the 2023-24 campaign from here.

O'Connor is expected to compete for a spot on the Penguins' fourth line this upcoming season. At a minimum, he will serve as a solid depth option for them as they aim to get back into the playoffs.

Nevertheless, this is a nice deal for both the team and the player, and we will need to wait and see how well O'Connor performs during it from here.
