Pittsburgh Penguins Sign 3 Players to PTOs
The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Mark Pysyk, Libor Hajek, and Austin Wagner to PTO contracts.
Pysyk missed the entirety of the 2022-23 season due to a torn Achilles tendon, but now the veteran defenseman is ready to make a push for an NHL job with the Penguins. Pysyk has 521 career games of NHL experience, where he has posted 28 goals, 76 assists, and 104 points.
Hajek appeared in 16 games last season with the New York Rangers, posting one goal and a plus-2 rating. The 25-year-old also had two goals and six points in 24 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack. A change of scenery from the Rangers was needed, and now he will be looking to earn a depth spot with Pittsburgh.
Wagner primarily played for the Ontario Reign last season, posting nine goals, 12 points, and 33 penalty minutes in 24 games. Following a late-season trade to the Chicago Blackhawks, he appeared in seven games with the Original Six club, scoring a goal and adding an assist.
