San Jose Sharks Rumors: Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate
The San Jose Sharks are rebuilding, and they have several players in the rumor mill because of it. However, it appears that a new name is starting to pick up steam, as the Sharks are reportedly open to hearing offers for defenseman Mario Ferraro.
Ferraro was in the rumor mill a bit this past season, but things cooled off following the deadline. Yet, as we inch closer to the regular season, it now seems that Ferraro is starting to generate some interest around the league again.
Ferraro appeared in 72 games this past season with the Sharks, where he posted four goals, 11 points, and a rough minus-31 rating. Overall, it was a down year for the 24-year-old, but he is a clear bounce-back candidate heading into the new year when looking at his previous seasons in the league.
Teams looking for a left-shot defenseman who can play top-four minutes and is very physical should certainly consider making a push for Ferraro. With that, he is still only 24 years old, so he has the potential to improve as he continues to get more experience.
