San Jose Sharks Rumors: Winger Becoming Free-Agent Target

The San Jose Sharks are looking to improve their forward group before the start of the season. They were in on the Vladimir Tarasenko sweepstakes before he signed with the Ottawa Senators. Due to this, they are focusing their attention elsewhere, as Max Comtois is on their radar.

Comtois is still looking for a new home one month into free agency, but there is interest in the winger. It is understandable, as he has shown past success in the NHL and is still young enough where a bounce- back season of some kind is clearly possible. Perhaps having a big role on the Sharks could lead to him doing just that.

Comtois spent this past season with the Anaheim Ducks, where he had nine goals to go along with 19 points. Overall, it was a frustrating year for the 24-year-old forward, and it led to the Ducks not sending him a qualifying offer. However, when noting that he led the Ducks in points just back in 2020-21, he could turn things around again.

We will need to wait and see if the Sharks end up signing Comtois before the start of the season from here.
