Tampa Bay Lightning Sign Defenseman to Extension

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenseman Darren Raddysh to a two-year, one-way contract extension. Starting in 2024-25, he will carry a $975,000 cap hit.

Raddysh appeared in a career-high 17 games this past season with the Lightning, posting one goal, two assists, and a minus-4 rating. Yet, it was in the AHL where he truly succeeded, as he had 13 goals and an impressive 51 points in 50 games with the Syracuse Crunch.

Raddysh is expected to compete for a bottom-pairing spot on the Lightning's roster this season and will also be in the running for power-play time. It is clear that the Lightning feel that he can translate some of his AHL offensive totals to the NHL level with this latest extension. Let's see how big of a year he can put up for the Lightning from here and how he performs once his extension officially begins in 2024-25.
