Vancouver Canucks Sign Pius Suter
The Vancouver Canucks have signed Pius Suter to a two-year, $3.2 million contract.
The Canucks were connected to Suter earlier this offseason, but things cooled off on that front when they signed Teddy Blueger. Yet, Vancouver has now brought in the 27-year-old forward and have improved their forward depth heading into the 2023-24 season because of it.
Suter spent this past season with the Detroit Red Wings, where he posted 14 goals to go along with 24 points in 79 games played. It was a down year for him offensively, but his defensive play noticeably improved, and he became a key penalty killer for the Red Wings because of it. He also plays all three forward positions, so he offers excellent versatility.
Suter will likely be pushing for the third-line center role for the Canucks. We will need to wait and see how much of an impact he can make for them from here.
