Golden Knights Rumors: Jonathan Marchessault Becoming Trade Candidate

In a recent article for Vegas Hockey Now, Chris Gawlik wrote that there is a possibility that the Vegas Golden Knights could trade Jonathan Marchessault before his contract expires after the 2023-24 season.

Marchessault will be eligible for unrestricted free agency next summer, and his value is currently the highest it has ever been. This is because the winger just won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP. Needless to say, after winning an individual award as big as that one, Marchessault would fetch the Golden Knights a big return if they opted to move him.

The Golden Knights have not been afraid to make changes to their group. In fact, they have become famous for it. Just this summer, they parted ways with Reilly Smith, so it would not be too out of the question to see Marchessault moved if he is not open to signing an extension. Extension talks have also not begun between the two parties.

We will need to wait and see what the Golden Knights decide to do with Marchessault, but this is something hockey fans should pay very close attention to moving forward.
