Winnipeg Jets Re-Sign Logan Stanley

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed defenseman Logan Stanley to a one-year, $1 million contract.

Stanley's new $1 million cap hit matches the qualifying offer that he received earlier this summer.

The Jets picked Stanley in the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, the 25-year-old has had trouble becoming a full-time member of their defensive group. Due to this, the former top prospect requested a trade last season, but the Jets have yet to move him. Now, as it stands now, he is a contract with the club heading into the new campaign.

The Jets' current defensive depth likely means that Stanley will serve as their seventh defenseman if they are unable to find him a new home before the start of the season.

In 19 games this past season with the Jets, the Kitchener native had one goal, two assists, and a minus-1 rating. We will need to wait and see how he performs during the 2023-24 season - whether he is with the Jets or a new club.
