3 Philadelphia Flyers Captain Candidates
At the time of this writing, there are eight teams currently without captains for the 2023-24 season. As a result of this, over the next few days, we here at NHLTR will be starting a mini-series going over three captain candidates for each of these clubs.
In this latest edition of the series, let's take a look at the Philadelphia Flyers.
Sean Couturier: Sean Couturier is expected to be ready for the 2023-24 season, and that is great to see. The veteran center missed all of last season after playing in just 29 contests in 2021-22. Yet, now that he is healthy, he surely will get consideration for the C. Keep in mind, he's played 11 seasons in Philly.
Scott Laughton: Scott Laughton has emerged as a big leader in the Flyers' room, so he is a clear candidate for the captaincy. His hard-working style of play is also something that teams look for from their captains.
Travis Konecny: Travis Konecny emerged as the Flyers' top star forward last season, so he naturally should get some consideration. Similar to Laughton, he has improved as a leader over these last few seasons.
