Arizona Coyotes Sign 11 Players To PTOs

The Arizona Coyotes have done what no other team has done this season and opened up their training camp to a large number of players. They recently revealed that they have signed 11 players to PTOs. Here's the list.

There are some notable names and not so notable names on this list. Players to keep an eye on are Olli Juolevi, Ryan Dzingel, and Auston Strand. Juolevi is a former fifth overall pick that just never turned into anything. He has NHL experience and the talent level was there at one point. He's still young enough that a new opportunity could spark something.

Dzingel was once an effective middle-six forward, but his opportunities have dwindled as he has gotten older. The 31-year-old only played in AHL games last season, but as a former seventh round pick, he was able to record 20+ goals and 40+ points twice in his career in the NHL.

It was going to be very difficult for Strand to make it in the Los Angeles Kings' organization with all of their defensive depth. He spent last season with the Anaheim Ducks and could be a decent depth option and one of the first AHL callups if there's injuries.

Others have played some NHL games and spent the majority of their time in the AHL, so that's where some might end up to help out with organizational depth. Nobody that the Coyotes signed to PTOs are that old and they can still fit in well in the minor systems.
