Blues' Krug Suffered Injury, Could Miss Time

Some unfortunate news came out of St. Louis today as one of their top defensemen, Torey Krug, has suffered a right foot injury and might miss some time. He is set to be re-evaluated on October 1, so at the very least, he will miss some time in the preseason and will be behind.

This injury happened when Krug was training for this season. The 32-year-old was gearing up and ready to have a bounce back season after he struggled in 2022-23. He has 18 goals and 107 points in 178 games since joining the Blues and he is going into his fourth season with the team.

The Blues don't have a shortage of defensemen that could fill his spot, but Krug will definitely be missed on the power play where he makes his living. It doesn't seem like his foot is broken or we would've got a more concrete return time. There is a chance that he can still make the opening night roster. The Blues are trying to bounce back as a team after retooling and missing the playoffs last season. Any injury that keeps one of their top players out isn't good for their success.
