Brett Ritchie Signing PTO With Atlantic Team

According to George Richards of Florida Hockey Now, the Florida Panthers are expected to sign winger Brett Ritchie to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.

Ritchie, 30, split last season between the Calgary Flames and Arizona Coyotes, posting eight goals and five assists in 50 games. The 6-foot-4 winger also recorded 77 hits on the year.

Ritchie will be competing for a spot in the Panthers' bottom six at training camp. Their depth on the wing is not necessarily looking too strong, so it could be enough for Ritchie to get decent playing time, that is of course if he is signed.

Interestingly, Ritchie's PTO announcement comes on the same day as his brother, Nick Ritchie. Nick agreed to a PTO with the St. Louis Blues.

We will need to wait and see if Brett can earn a contract from the Panthers from here. The same can be said for Nick with the Blues, too.
