Vancouver Canucks Rumors: Trade Talks Ongoing Involving Spencer Martin
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet the Vancouver Canucks have held trade conversations regarding 28-year-old netminder Spencer Martin.
Today is the first day of waiver activity for the 2023-24 NHL season. One of the names expected to be on there -- if there isn't a deal first -- is VCR's Spencer Martin. There have been some trade discussions over the past week.

Friedman points out that waiver wire activity is starting in the NHL and Martin is a name of interest. The Canucks acquired a familiar face to management, Casey DeSmith and now with DeSmith and Thatcher Demko as the team's duo for this season, Martin's become expendable.
He's very likely getting scooped on waivers so it makes a ton of sense for Canucks GM Patrik Allvin to try and get something in return via trade. The goalie market isn't necessarily smoking hot at the moment, so Martin's one of the best who could become available for teams to add depth in their crease.
Last season in 29 appearance's with the Canucks, the former third-round pick posted a 3.99 goals against average and a ..871 save percentage. His numbers from the AHL are much more impressive, including a .929 save percentage in four playoff games.
Martin holds a career NHL record of 14-17-5, with a 3.62 GAA and a .885 Sv.%.
Spencer Martin is here to inform you that we have officially hit 3️⃣0️⃣ days until our Home Opener 😎
