Capitals Rumors: 2 Forwards Still Trade Candidates

It isn't a secret that the Washington Capitals have looked to move Anthony Mantha and Evgeny Kuznetsov this offseason. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, they are still players to watch from now until the trade deadline.

Mantha is coming off of a rough season that saw him post 11 goals and 27 points in 67 games. When noting that he currently has a $5.7 million cap hit, that kind of production is far too low. If they hope to move him, they will likely need to attach sweeteners because of it.

As for Kuznetsov, he is also coming off a down year. Although this is the case, he still has the potential to be a decent second-line center. If the Capitals are willing to retain some of his salary, there could be teams out there willing to take a shot on the skilled center.

We will need to wait and see if the Capitals end up moving these two during the season from here or keep them on their roster.
