Carolina Hurricanes: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction of 2023 Offseason

The 2023-24 regular season is rapidly approaching, much to the delight of hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHLTR are starting a series going over each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the summer.

In this latest edition of the series, let's look at the Carolina Hurricanes.

Best Addition: Michael Bunting

The Hurricanes made several notable additions to their roster this offseason. Out of the bunch, Michael Bunting stands out the most. He gives them a top-six winger with the ability to score goals and provide grit. However, the additions of Dmitry Orlov and Tony DeAngelo also have the potential to be excellent for the club.

Worst Subtraction: Shayne Gostisbehere

Had Max Pacioretty played more this season, he would have been the choice for this list. However, for this one, let's focus on Shayne Gostisbehere. The offensive defenseman ended up being a strong rental for the Hurricanes, but they did do a good job finding replacements for him in Orlov and DeAngelo.
